To create a virtual unit, its easy! Type the full path or (even easier) browse to the path via the Drive and Folder Lists. Virtual Drive Creator letters turn into long paths. Available Virtual Drive Letters list, select a drive letter and Click [Add Virtual Drive] to create the Virtual Drive, or Double Click the letter to create the Virtual Drive. Its just as easy to remove a Virtual Drive, Double Click the letter you want removed as a Virtual Drive or Click the letter and then Click [Remove Virtual Drive]. Make CD-ROMs obsolete, copy the contents of a CD-ROM to a folder, not the root directory on your hard drive. Folder to the Virtual Drive (see paragraph above), then install the Virtual CD Virtual Drive from the letter. Click Start, Run and type in the space L: setup or L: install (substitute the letter L and see the documentation for your Virtual Drive CD-ROM that came with your installation command to the right). Now every time you need to access the CD, you can use Virtual CD from your hard drive. Make sure the Virtual Drive letter of the virtual CD, restart your computer that you use to make a note of it, you will be using the same font to re-create the Virtual Drive. (With Virtual Drive Creator Pro version you can make your Virtual Drives Permanent!) Virtual Drive Creator (VDC) in the DOS subst command from within Windows. This allows you to use a drive letter, specify the full path to the directory (d: foldersub1sub2etc). |
